DOHA, Qatar, 11 September 2018: Qatar will launch direct flights to Kenya’s second city, Mombasa, opening up the country’s coastal destinations to international tourists.
The new four weekly service will be Qatar Airways’ second Kenyan destination, in addition to existing flights to Nairobi.
Flights between Doha and Mombasa will be served by an Airbus A320, with 12 business class seats and 120 economy class seats, from 9 December, with a flight time of just over six hours.
Bordering the Indian Ocean, tropical Mombasa is Kenya’s main coastal tourist destination and a popular gateway to the country’s beaches and coral reef diving.
Qatar Airways first started flying to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi in November 2005. As part of its continued expansion plans, Qatar Airways plans to fly to more destinations through 2019, including Gothenburg, Sweden; Danang, Vietnam; Tallinn, Estonia and Valletta, Malta.
