Air Italy starts Bangkok flight

BANGKOK, 25 September 24 2018: In a rare occasion an airline hosts a private dinner for travel and aviation industry influencers to mark the introduction of a new service.

Air Italy was celebrating its first touchdown in Bangkok, at the weekend, as it launches four weekly services to the Thai capital.

Air Italy chief customer experience officer, Rossen Dimitrov and, Air Italy chief commercial officer, Andrea Andorno, hosted the dinner with VIP guests led by ENIT, the Italian Tourism Board, representative, Manuela Cavaccini Cataldo.

The guests were also joined by media from Italy who travelled on the inaugural flight from Milan to Bangkok as guests of Air Italy as well as top local media from Bangkok.

The company intends to increase services to five weekly by late October.

Bangkok is Air Italy’s third new international route launched this summer after New York and Miami and the first in Asia.

This will shortly be followed by two new routes from Milan to Delhi and Mumbai in India, with a Delhi launch set for 28 October and Mumbai 30 October.

All Air Italy international destinations originate in Milan Malpensa, but the timetable is synchronised to offer connections from Rome Fiumicino, Sicily (Catania, Palermo), Naples, Calabria (Lamezia Terme) and Sardinia (Olbia).

Air Italy’s new services between Milan Malpensa and Bangkok, Thailand, uses an Airbus A330-200 with 24 seats in business class and 228 seats in economy.

The airline is offering departures from Italy on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and intends to add the fifth service on a Sunday effective from 28 October.
