Hotelbeds introduces concierge

-

PALMA, Spain, 22 August 2018: Hotelbeds Group Ancillary Bank announced, Tuesday, that it will launch a concierge service for use by the end traveller of its travel intermediary customers.

This new product offering will be available in Hotelbeds Group booking platforms – aimed at the fully independent travellers (FIT) – and will be available in both the wholesale and retail channels of the group  – including Hotelbeds, Tourico Holidays, GTA and Bedsonline brands.

Travellers will be able to access a 24-hour personal assistance hotline manned by English and Spanish speaking local experts.

This service will enrich the in-destination local experiences for travellers through the input and expertise of local assistants.

They will offer on-request services such as a  “meet your concierge” in person on arrival, a facility that in the past was offered mainly be inbound tour operators or destination management companies for their top clients.

Other possible services include interpretation and translation services, information on local infrastructure, services and transport.

The concierge will also arrange, book and buy tours, tickets, attractions, events, transfers and car rentals, while providing  information on culture, lifestyle, sports and local traditions.

Hotelbeds Group is rolling out the service in Thailand initially in Bangkok and Phuket where most visitors are on holiday. Other destinations in Asia will be added.

It is also being introduced in key Latin American destinations such as Punta Cana, Cancun and Riviera Maya.

Hotelbeds Group Ancillary Bank director, Javier Arévalo, commented: “We are very pleased to announce another strategic product offering that helps keep Hotelbeds Group’s Ancillary Bank as a leading in-destination services specialist – and help give our travel intermediary clients an additional competitive edge with their customer, the end traveller.

He said the goal was to offer advice and provide personalised attention from the very beginning of the holiday stay.

Operating mainly under the Hotelbeds, Bedsonline, Tourico Holidays and GTA brands, the company connects over 60,000 travel intermediaries across more than 140 source markets globally with travel providers in over 185 countries representing more than 170,000 hotels, 24,000 transfer routes and 18,000 activities.
