Bangkok Airways piles on the profit

BANGKOK, 16 August 2018: Bangkok Airways reports a net profit of THB637.3 million during the first six months of the year, a gain of 4.5%.

The public listed company announced its operating results for the first six-month period of 2018 on Wednesday stating revenue reached THB14,061.0 million.

The net profit in the same period last year reached THB592.9 million.

Profit attributed to the equity holder over the six months of this year was THB627.5 million. Earnings per share were calculated at THB 0.30.

In the second quarter of 2018, the company increased flights on the Bangkok-Mandalay (Myanmar) route from seven to 11 flights per week. It has also entered into codeshare agreements with two more airlines; Oman Air and Laos Airlines.

Oman Air passengers will be able to buy through-fares to various destinations in Thailand such as Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Lampang, Trat, Sukhothai and Samui from cities in the Middle East and Europe served by the airline.

The partnership with Laos Airlines gives Bangkok Airways additional flight options to Vientiane, Luang Prabang and opens up Pakse.

Bangkok Airways codeshares and has interline agreements with 26 airlines partners that contributes revenue representing 23% of total passenger revenue.
