Johor Bahru hub sprouts routes

SEPANG, 19 July 2018 – AirAsia is expanding it domestic network from Johor Bahru with two new destinations; Alor Setar and Ipoh, effective 1 October.

AirAsia Malaysia will offer four weekly flights from Johor Bahru to both destinations.

They are the 10th and 11th domestic routes from Senai International Airport. The Johor Bahru-Ipoh flight will also mark the airline’s first service to the capital city of Perak.

AirAsia Malaysia head of commercial, Spencer Lee said: “This expansion not only boosts connectivity between southern and northern peninsular Malaysia, but also offers an opportunity to strengthen the economies of Johor, Kedah and Perak through increased tourism.”

AirAsia Malaysia now flies to 16 destinations from Johor Bahru; Bangkok, Jakarta, Surabaya, Ho Chi Minh City, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kuala Terengganu, Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Alor Setar and Ipoh.

To launch the new routes, the airline is selling promotional all-in-fares from MYR69* one-way from Johor Bahru to Alor Setar and from MYR59* one-way from Johor Bahru to Ipoh. The booking window closes 29 July for travel between 1 October and 13 August 2019.

Fares can be purchased on airasia.com and the AirAsia mobile app.
