HANOI, 25 July 2018: The Vietnamese capital’s department of culture, sports and tourism will host a street carnival 29 July that should draw thousands of residents and tourists.
Adopting the theme “The Quintessence of Ha Noi – Confluence and Shine” the event will be held around around Hoan Kiem Lake in the city centre.
Apart from the Hanoi Department of Culture Sports and Tourism, the Centre for Preservation and Development of Vietnamese Stage Arts is supporting the event to mark the 10th anniversary of the city’s expansion of its administrative boundary.
The festival will take place 0800 to 1100 with officials estimating as many as 5,000 people could take part.
Traffic will closed, or restricted, around Hoan Kiem Lake, Ly Thai To Square, Ba Kieu Temple, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, in front of Luc Thuy restaurant, Ba Trieu – Hang Khay intersection, and Hang Bai – Trang Tien intersection.
Thousands of artisans, folk performing artists and students will perform traditional dances.
Aodai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) performance will be a highlight alongside fashion collections by the city’s popular designers.
