Smart tourism debate

HO CHI MINH CITY, 20 June 2018: The 8th Tourism Promotion Organisation for Asian-Pacific Cities (TPO) Forum will open Thursday in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event will run from 21 to 22 June adopting the theme “Smart tourism.”

Over the two days 300 delegates from 25 cities from the six TPO member countries will attend.

The forum will include two sessions on “Smart Tourism” and “case study presentations by member cities, with  international speakers and experts contributing.

Other activities include a meeting of the TPO executive committee, the TPO travel trade exchange and a smart tourism exhibition; the TPO bilateral meeting, and TPO best awards.

TPO is an international organisation established in 2002 at the 5th Asian-Pacific City Summit to enable an inter-city network to promote the exchanges and development of tourism among major cities in the Asia-Pacific region.

Ho Chi Minh City is a co-founder and member of the executive board. Currently, the organisation consists of 86 cities, and 45 travel agencies and institutes and other tourism organisations from 10 Asia-Pacific countries and territories.
