Have Halal will travel campaign

-

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 May 2018: Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is partnering with online travel platform Have Halal, Will Travel (HHWT) to highlight Hong Kong as the ultimate Muslim travel destination.

The partnership will see more Muslim-targeted content, travel guides, itineraries and tips on how to discover Hong Kong like a local, while enjoying delicious Halal cuisine, convenient prayer facilities and other Muslim-friendly amenities.

HKTB recognises the large Muslim traveller population in Southeast Asia and has identified the segment for its strong growth potential.

Southeast Asia alone is inhabited by 290 million Muslims, which translates to approximately 42% of the total population of the region.

Hong Kong continues to hold the title of the world’s most visited city for the seventh year in a row  and is one of the top five Muslim-friendly destinations among the non-OIC countries .

There are 70 restaurants certified Halal by the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories areas.

This includes 13 hotel restaurants. Options range from Halal local dim sum and Cantonese cuisine, to Indian cuisine.

To reach out to more Muslims HKTB launched a Muslim guidebook, Warna-Warni Destinasi Hong Kong featuring the latest happenings, festivals, must-visit attractions, restaurants and Muslim-friendly facilities in Hong Kong.

The one-year partnership with HHWT will showcase Hong Kong as the preferred Muslim travel destination for 2018 and it will focus on a series of campaigns targeted at Muslim consumers. The partnership commences this month.
