BANGKOK, 3 April 2018: Bangkok Airways adds another Bangkok to Mandalay service, 1 July, four days a week that will give the airline 11 weekly flights on the route.

The airline says it is responding to demand to and from Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar and an important gateway for travellers heading to the heritage town of Bagan.

Bangkok Airways uses a 162-seater Airbus A320 aircraft for the one-hour and 55-minute flight.

The new outbound flight PG713 will depart Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 1700 and arrive in Mandalay International Airport at 1825. The inbound flight PG714 will depart Mandalay International Airport at 1910 and arrive in Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 2135.

The flight operates on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Skyscanner quotes a roundtrip fare of THB 5,771 on the route, showing the additional flight in its quotes. The same fare also applies for an 1155 departure on Bangkok Airways.

The airline dominates the fare quotes with the three pages of a Skyscanner search for a direct services on the Bangkok-Mandalay route. Other options require a stop and change of plane in Chiang Mai or Yangon.

Out of Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport, Thai AirAsia offers a direct flight to Mandalay and sells a roundtrip fare for THB 5906.
