Laos from the skies takes off

-

VIENTIANE, 30 April 2018: Summit Tours has inked an exclusive deal with Lao Skyway, an airline and helicopter service, to provide aerial tours in Laos.

The deal was concluded earlier in April allowing Summit Tours to market, sell and operate tours, which include helicopter flights to various destinations in  Lao PDR using Lao Skyway aircraft.

The helicopter fleet consists of five-seater Airbus AS 350 B3 models, professionally maintained by foreign contractors.

They are available for charters and flexible tour arrangements in addition to the sightseeing trips based on Summit Tours’ itineraries.

Lao Skyway is a domestic commuter airline that also offers helicopter services.

“By using an helicopter, our tours will present a unique opportunity to showcase the beauty of Laos from the air, said Summit Tours sales and marketing manager, Jan Wollen. “It will provide exclusive access to remote areas which are otherwise inaccessible.

The tours with a helicopter ride will cater individual clients as well as corporate and wholesale partners,” she said.

The new airborne sightseeing tour comes at a time when the nation is promoting its  “Visit Laos Year 2018” campaign.

Based on advance bookings, individual charters or open tours can be arranged to and from destinations such as Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Luang Nam Tha, Oudomxay, Bokeo, Phongsaly, Huaphan, Xieng Khouang ande Pakse.

General managers of leading hotels in Luang Prabang were guests of Summit Tours for familiarisation flights out of Luang Prabang earlier this month. The company is keen for luxury hotels in the world heritage town to promote the flights to their guests.

Summit will also work with travel wholesalers and destination management companies based in Laos to sell the tours to their clients offering them net rates or commission.

There are no details of prices for the helicopter tours, or land tours, offered by the travel company.

Summit Tours is a new venture in Lao PDR that apparently has a level of foreign participation. Headquartered in Vientiane, information on the company and tour details can be checked at www.summittours.la.

Agents will need to register first with Summit to gain access to bookings details including prices for its helicopter services. There is no facilities for consumers to book a tour directly on the website and pay for it.  They need to contact the company by email.
