Hainan renews GDS agreement

-

SINGAPORE – 25 April 2018 – Sabre, a global distribution system, renewed a content agreement with Hainan Airlines that will continue to deliver the airline’s flights and fares to a travel agency network, worldwide.

Hainan Airlines has used Sabre’s GDS for a decade to reach 425,000 ticketing agencies both traditional and online travel agencies, worldwide, with the exception of the mainland China market.

Visitors to Hainan Airlines website can book flights at competitive fares directly without using a travel agency through the airline’s booking engine driven by Sabre and displaying the airline’s full fare inventory.

However, at present that is as far as the partnership goes in empowering the airline’s direct sales. There appears to be no add-on sales capability beyond point-to-point fares on its website that would generate more  revenue.

A check of the airline’s website indicated there were no links to ground services and hotel bookings that a visitor to the airline’s site could use to cut the steps it takes to book air, land (rentals and tours) and accommodation deals.

Hainan Airlines is increasing operations with 13 new international routes added to connect to Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, Japan and the United States.
