THAI codeshares with Shenzhen

-

BANGKOK, 27 March 2018: Thai Airways International will begin codeshare flights with Shenzhen Airlines on routes to and from China in its summer timetable that begins this week.

THAI acting executive vice president commercial, Wiwat Piyawiroj, said that THAI has adjusted its traffic schedule and is introducing codeshare flights with Shenzhen Airlines.

Passengers can take advantage of roundtrip codeshare flights from Bangkok to Guangzhou, Bangkok to Shenzhen, and Shenzhen to Phuket in the summer schedule 2018.

This codeshare agreement also strengthens cooperation within Star Alliance, boost revenue for both airlines particularly for flights to China, although the airline did not explain how that works out for potential passengers.

THAI flights

The codeshare agreement applies on three routes currently served by THAI.

TG678/679 from Bangkok to Guangzhou will operate seven roundtrip flights per week, using a Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

TG618/619 from Bangkok to Chengdu will operate seven roundtrip flights per week, using a Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

TG612/613 from Bangkok to Kunming will operate seven roundtrip flights per week, using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

Shenzhen Airlines can book its passengers on these flights at pre-arranged fares and will have a seat allotment for each flight in its booking system predominantly Chinese business and leisure travellers.

As Shenzhen Airlines is heavily booked with tour groups from China on routes to and from Thailand, it can shift some bookings to THAI on the three specified routes to Guangzhou, Chengdu and Kunming.
