BANGKOK, 6 February 2018: Thai Airways International’s four weekly flights to Iran are no longer bookable on the airline’s website beyond 28 February.
According to timetable information posted by Airlineroute, the airline has closed reservations for its services to Tehran for booking dates in March.
However, attempts to book a flight on the airline’s website during the summer timetable months March to October came up with an error message.
By all appearances the airline is suspending the route and there is no indication that flights might resume in November when checking the booking site. The airline served the route four times weekly. Roundtrip fares were around THB21,500.
It flies a Boeing 777 to Tehran Imam Khomeini Airports Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
TG527 departs Bangkok at 1510 and arrives in Tehran 1935. The return flight, TG528, departs Tehran at 2045 and arrives in Bangkok 0640 the following morning.
So far, the airline has not issued its own timetable adjustments for the summer timetable. In the past it issued a six monthly update on flight status covering the summer and winter season timetables to the media.
The airline has not responded to an email from TTRweekly seeking clarity on the status of the Tehran service beyond 28 February.
