Qatar lands in Canberra

DOHA, 13 February 2018:  The first Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Canberra, landed at Australia’s capital city, Monday.

Qatar Airways flight QR906 departed Hamad International Airport (HIA) on Sunday 11 February at 0755 and arrived at Canberra Airport at 0835 on Monday morning, after a short stop in Sydney.

Qatar Airways will operate its daily Canberra service, via Sydney, using a Boeing B777 aircraft, configured with 42 flatbed seats in business class and 316 seats in economy class.

It is only the second international airline to fly to Canberra, that has a population of around 1 million across the capital state territory.

Residents will now be able to fly to the airline’s home base in Doha with just a short transit stop in Sydney. From Doha they can connect with nonstop services to Europe and North America.

With the airline launching a new daily service to Canberra, the airline flies to five destinations in Australia.
