Phuket’s food and music fest is back

PHUKET, 28 February 2018: A three-day “East Meets West” Food & Music Extravaganza is set for a repeat performance at Laguna Phuket, 27 to 29 April, following on from last year’s inaugural edition.

Laguna Phuket announced the 2nd annual “Laguna Phuket Food & Music Festival,” Monday, saying the three-day food and music extravaganza would attract food and music lovers from around the world to the resort complex at Bangtao Beach.

Entry to the evening festival is free except for main stage performances at 2000.

Opening at 1600, “East-Meets-West Laguna Phuket Food & Music Festival (LPFMF)” will be set up at the resort’s “Laguna Grove” next to the lagoons.

One of the food highlights will be the presentation of Peranakan cuisine from Phuket’s top restaurants. Local vendors and Laguna Phuket resorts will supply Phuket dishes sourced from nearby communities. Other dining options include mobile food trucks, a dining garden and culinary shows against the backdrop of musical performances.

LPFMF’s first day will highlight the return of “Laguna Phuket Charity Concert (LPCC)”  featuring Thailand’s leading rock bands “Bodyslam” and “Sweet Mullets”.

Organised to  raise for funds for Phuket Panyanukul School, a school for children with special needs, the concert will take place at 2000. The concert should attract an estimated 6,000 audience.

On the following evenings different main stage musical acts will be on stage at 2000. Saturday 28 April featuring the famous Russian pianist and opera singer “Ivan Sharapov”, followed by Phuket-based “Black ‘n’ Blue” band. 2018

LPFMF will conclude on Sunday 29 April with a performance at 2000 by popular Thai duo “Joe & Kong” and “Black ‘n’ Blue” closing the night.

While the Laguna Phuket Food & Festival is open to all without entry fee, highlight performances on the main stage each evening will raise funds for “Children First Fund (CFF)” in support of children in Phuket.

Ticket for Laguna Phuket Charity Concert (27 April) is priced at THB400 (standing) and on 28 and 29 April, limited VIP-zone tickets are available at THB500 apiece for stage-front seating and complimentary refreshment.

Charity concert tickets (27 April) and VIP-zone concert tickets for 28 April and 29 April will be available for sale from 1600 on Friday 2 March  at Limelight Avenue in Phuket town. Tickets are also available at Phuket Indy Market, all Laguna Phuket hotels and Laguna Tours Office in Canal Village.
