PG’s race series returns

BANGKOK, 16 February 2018: Bangkok Airways is back with its race series for joggers that promotes tourism and sports at destinations it serves in Thailand.

Last year, the seven selected races generated 15,000 registrations and the airline is forecasting a bigger turnout in 2018.

The race series announcement was made, earlier this week, at a press briefing that the airline hosted at Centara Grand Central Ladprao.

Bangkok Airways Marketing Communications Division senior director Kridhakorn Sirabhabhoj said: “Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2018 will promote tourism to destinations we serve and respond to the incremental demand for sport-tourism in the global market.”

The seven races in the series comprise of five Half-Marathons at Krabi, Samui, Lampang, Phuket and Chiang Mai, a Full-Marathon in Chiang Rai and a Trail-Run in Trat.

The Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2018 schedule begins with the Ultra Trail Unseen Koh Chang  on Chang Island, Trat, 16 and 17 February.

The Krabi Half Marathon follows at Krabi in South Thailand, 6 May.

Other races: “Samui Marathon Samui island, Surat Thani 10 June; Lampang Half Marathon in Lampang 24 June; Phuket Half Marathon, Phuket, 5 Augus; Chiang Rai Marathon, Chiang Rai 16 September  and Lanna Half Marathon, Chiang Mai 11 November.
