AirAsia backs fun run for foodies

BANGKOK, 2 February 2018: Index Creative Village joins with AirAsia and AirAsia X to host a series of lifestyle runs through four cities in four Asian countries that will appeal to foodies.

Kilorun 2028 is billed as a “festival of food, fun, friends and family” that combines the pleasures of dining and running.

The festival covers runs in Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam starting with Bangkok 24 to 25 March.

Event organiser Index Creative Village’s co-founder and co-chief executive officer, Kriangkrai Kanjanapokin, points out that running is now the world’s top sporting activity with marathons taking place weekly.

He estimates as many as 2,500 participants will turn up for the run in Bangkok that is divided into two categories.

The first one is KG (Kilogram) based on weight gain fuelled by signature dishes digested at each iconic attraction the runners pass. Prizes are based on targeted weight gains of 0.5, 1 and 2kg.

The run starts 24 March at 1700 over a  2.68 km course passing various restaurants and a Michelin starred eatery.

The second category KM (Kilometer) focuses the attention of runners on the atmosphere, culture, architecture and lifestyles of each city. This category is divided into three runs, the Mini Marathon (10.82km), Fun Run (5.82 km) and the Kids Run RUN of (2.68km).  The event kicks off 0600 25 March.

Runners will see the architecture of Rattanakosin Island including Rachadamnoen Avenue, Sanam Luang, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Pho, the Ministry of Defence, the Giant Swing and Democracy Monument. On completion of the run they will receive a shirt and medals.

AirAsia and AirAsia X operate in all of the countries where KILORUN 2018 is taking place, flying to Bangkok (Thailand), Bali (Indonesia), Osaka (Japan) and Hanoi (Vietnam).
