Carolus joins Hyatt Regency Bangkok as GM

BANGKO, 19 January 2018: Sammy Carolus has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, set to open later this year on Sukhumvit Road.

In his new role, Carolus returns to Thailand following a sting as general manager of the Grand Hyatt Taipiei.

Prior to his Taiwan assignment he spent more than  half of his 25-year professional career at Bangkok’s first Hyatt Regency branded hotel.

Carolus, who first moved to Thailand in 2003 as director of marketing for Hyatt Regency Hua Hin & The BARAI says the latest Hyatt property in Bangkok will open mid-year.

Carolus began his career with the Hyatt Group in 1992 as a sales associate at Bali Hyatt in his home country of Indonesia. He later served as associate director of business development and director of business development at Grand Hyatt Bali.

In 2004, Carolus was transferred to Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok.

The 273-room Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit will be the fourth Hyatt hotel in Bangkok, joining Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Park Hyatt Bangkok and Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit.
