Vietnam’s passenger traffic rises

HANOI 29 December 2017: Vietnam welcomed its 94 millionth passenger, Wednesday, based on all passenger movements through major airports using Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation services, according to Vietnam News Agency.

The agency handled 800,000 flights, up 10% year-on-year.

Speaking at an event, hosted at Hanoi’s Noi Bai international airport, Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) general director, Dinh Viet Thang, said the airline sector had contributed 13 million foreign passengers to Vietnam during the year.

According to tourism estimates this year will close with almost 12 million tourist arrivals.

Passenger traffic was up 16% from 2016.
