SINGAPORE, 1 November 2017: Bintan Lagoon Resort has appointed Gerald Hendrick as senior vice president of Resort Venture Pte Ltd and general kanager of the resort, the largest on the Indonesian island of Bintan.
Previously, vice-president – business development & hotel operations, Hendrick has been with the resort since 2014.
A Malaysian national, he brings with him 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry having worked with various international groups.
His scope of work included openings and re-branding of hotels for international brands such as Hilton International, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Raffles International, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Pan Pacific, Madinat Jumeirah and St Regis Hotel Singapore.
As senior vice president and general manager, Hendricks is responsible for the administration and operations of Bintan Lagoon Resort, the resort’s ferry operations and the corporate office in Singapore.
He also played a key role in gaining recognition for the resort at the recent 7th Asian Lifestyle Tourism Awards for an outstanding beach resort destination, outstanding honeymoon destination and best golf tourism destination in Southeast Asia.
Bintan Lagoon Resort, covering 300 hectares of beachfront real estate and gardens, is considered a upscale lifestyle destination for leisure, golf and corporate meetings and incentives. It has its own ferry terminal and boasts 470 rooms, suites and villas with 14 dining options, nine function rooms and two 18-hole golf courses.
