KUCHING, 13 November 2017: Low-cost airline, AirAsia, will increase services on the Kuching-Singapore route to 16 flights weekly, effective 26 December.
Presently, the airline services the route with nine flights weekly.
Bookings have already opened for the new service.
At the same time the airline will increase domestic flights between Kuching and Miri to 29 times weekly and from Miri-to Singapore to seven weekly.
To celebrate the launch, of the service from Bintulu to Singapore the airline is offering free seats for bookings made by 12 November at www.airasia.com for travel between 27 December 27 and 21 November, 2018.
Bintulu is a coastal town, 624 km from Kuching the state capital and 200 km from Miri.
The new services particularly to Singapore will boost tourism to Sarawak, airline officials commented.
AirAsia now flies to three destinations from Bintulu – Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, with a total of 39 weekly flights one way.
Last week AirAsia relocated all of its operations at Singapore Changi Airport from Terminal 1 to the fully-automated Terminal 4 .
