HANOI, 10 October 2017:– ASIA DMC’s group managing director, Linh Le, joins an expert panel discussion at WTM London 2017 to debate the critical issues of sustainable tourism.
Taking place on the first day of the international travel trade show at ExCeL London, the session will see a panel of experts examine “The Major Environmental Challenges: Carbon & Water”.
This platform will allow Linh to share his experience in the sustainable tourism sector and how tour operators are facing up to its environmental responsibilities.
“Sustainability and resource management are arguably the biggest challenges facing the global travel and tourism industry in the 21st century,” said Linh Le. “At ASIA DMC, we put environmental and social considerations at the core of our business, ensuring that everything we do has a positive impact.
“With its continued focus on responsible tourism, WTM London is playing a key role in driving the global debate and promoting thought leadership,” he added.
ASIA DMC was recently awarded partner status with Travelife, the leading UK-based training, management and certification initiative for tourism companies. This followed the launch of several social and environmental initiatives, including reducing the company’s energy use, only using sustainable suppliers, eliminating the use of plastic bottles, and implementing child and animal welfare policies.
The company is also about to launch an “Animal Welfare Map”, providing its partners and guests with an excellent insight into the ethics of animal attractions across Southeast Asia, while a carbon offsetting project for ASIA DMC’s leisure guests will be rolled out by the end of the year.
The panel discussion, “The Major Environmental Challenges: Carbon & Water”, will take place at the WTM Responsible Tourism Theatre on Monday 6 November 2017 from 1130 to 1215.
ASIA DMC will also be exhibiting at WTM London 2017, and major news of the company’s expansion is due to be announced during the show. For WTM delegates: Visit the company at booth number AS464.
