BANGKOK, 4 August 2017: The 21st edition of Thai International Travel Fair will take 10 to 13 August at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
Thai Travel Agents Association president, Suparerk Soorangura, said the event should support outbound and domestic tourism markets and will boost travel bookings in the last quarter.
“Themed Fun For Family, the 21st edition is organised to stimulate tourism for both domestic and outbound sectors and encourages travellers to buy holiday packages and services directly from tour operators,” he said.
Fair visitors can usually pick up hotel, tour and airfare deals that are lower than what are on offer through other channels.
This year, the fair should have around 1,000 booths representing hotels, resorts, travel agents, airlines, cruise companies, car rental companies, tourism organisations, travel magazines, banks and travel insurance companies.
A couple of the show highlights will focus on demonstrations and use of AR technology (augmented reality) and selling travel, promotions to sell travel to snow destinations this winter under the tag “Frozen Planet”.
On the domestic front, some towns such as Lop Buri and Singburi in the central region, will focus on “healthy kitchens” and organic food.
TTAA estimated the four-day event should attract 350,000 visitors and generate THB500 million.
KTC cardholders who purchase travel for a value of THB5,000 can show sales slip to receive additional incentives and prizes.
For a spend of THB1,000, they will get one lottery ticket for a brand new MG car that will be raffled off during the show.
TITF is organised by TTAA and the Association of Domestic Travel. Sponsors are: Thai Amadeus Southeast Asia; Krung Thai Bank and Thai Vivat Insurance PCL. Supported by Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Department of Tourism, Tourism Council of Thailand, Thai Hotels Association and the Association of Thai Travel Agents.
The event is held twice annually in February and August.
