Malaysia flies A380s to North Asia

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 June 2017: Malaysia Airlines has filed flight details for Airbus A380 services to Seoul and Tokyo.

Effective 7 September, the Airbus A380 will fly daily from Kuala Lumpur to Seoul Incheon.

A service to Tokyo Narita will also start on the same day with six weekly flights.

Malaysia Airlines’ has a fleet of six Airbus A380s. The double-decker aircraft has 494 seats in three classes. It flies from Kuala Lumpur to London Heathrow double daily.

Earlier in the year, the airline said it intended to lease out the A380s for charters, or use them for Mecca pilgrimage flights possibly reconfiguring the aircraft to seat 700 passengers. The A350-900 will begin to replace the A380s in 2018.

The airline will continue this year to expand its routes to China after launching services to Nanjing, Fuzhou and Shenzhen last April. A service to Wuhan in August will follow and Chengdu and Chongqing in October.
