Expo 2020 Dubai plans unfold

ABU DHABI, UAE, 4 April 2017: Alpin Limited has been appointed the commissioning authority for the 2020 World Expo, which will take place in Dubai.

Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract 180 nations and 25 million visitors, across a six-month period.

Alpin’s primary objective is to work with the organisers to integrate these three sub-themes into the urban design, construction, operations and legacy, while also ensuring the assets have a life after the expo closes.

The design will be inspired by Middle Eastern environment, reflecting the cultural and architectural history of the UAE.

It is hoped the project will become a benchmark in sustainability for future World Expo sites by meeting the guidelines of the US Green Building Council requirements and local standards

Following the World Expo, the physical site of Expo 2020 Dubai will transform into a mixed-use community comprising of: an expanded Convention and Exhibition Centre (CoEx); a Specialist Education Centre; Techno Parks for research and development; commercial offices; retail mall and residencies.

Expo 2020 Dubai aims to showcase smart city initiatives that provide both an interactive and educational experience for visitors and participants.
