HONG KONG, 22 February 2017: HK Express recorded expansion and a healthy performance during 2016 as it builds traffic on eight new routes in Asia including three in the Mekong Region – Nha Trang, Vietnam, Yangon in Myanmar and Chiang Rai in Thailand.
Flights were also launched to Ishigaki, Takamatsu, Kagoshima, Hualien and Guam.
The airline reported it also introduced its first Airbus 320neo aircraft in late 2016 and launched a new U-Biz corporate programme, as well as becoming a founding-member of the U-FLY Alliance.
Passenger growth continued with the low-fare airline carrying 2,909,460 passengers, marking a 29.18% increase compared with 2015.
In December, HK Express welcomed 269,693 passengers on board its routes, representing a 17.3% increase.
Revenue climbed in 2016 by 23.1% marking a 4.8% increase in comparison to 18.3% in 2015.
The low-fare airline welcomed its second A320neo in January and has an additional 10 A320neo and 10 A321 on order due to be delivered by 2018.
