BANGKOK, 8 February 2017: Bangkok Airways has announced it is sponsoring a running series in Thailand’s top tourist destinations.
Bangkok Airways is backing six running events at six destinations served by the airline.
The airline and its partner, Teelakow, launched ‘Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2017,’ claiming sports tourism is now one of the fastest growing travel segment, worldwide.
Bangkok Airways’ senior director- marketing communications, Kridhakorn Sirabhabhoj said: “Bangkok Airways has been active in promoting sport tourism and Thailand is becoming more and more runner-friendly and there are many beautiful spots to host races.”
The races will be hosted in Trat (Chang Island), Samui, Phuket, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son.
Teelakow is organising the races on behalf of the airline noting that the characteristics of each race circuit will be different to ensure “participants will be impressed with breath-taking scenery at each destination.”
Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2017 consists of the following races:
Ultra Trail Unseen Koh Chang, Chang island, Trat province, 17 and 18 February;
Samui Marathon, Samui, Surat Thani province, 25 June;
Phuket Marathon, Phuket, 6 August;
Chiang Rai Marathon, Chiang Rai, 24 September;
Lanna Marathon, Chiang Mai, 19 November;
Ultra Trail Panoramic Mae Hong Son, 8 to 10 December.
