YANGON, 26 January 2017: Wyndham’s TRYP brand has arrived in Southeast Asia with the opening of a new- hotel in Yangon, Myanmar.
The 60-room TRYP Yangon is Wyndham’s inaugural hotel in Myanmar.
TRYP by Wyndham targets urban travellers with hotels located in the heart of cities offering them a lifestyle experience.
“Myanmar is quickly becoming a must-see destination for international travellers with nearly 8 million arrivals in 2015 thanks to an influx of foreign investment and Yangon’s expanded international airport,” said Wyndham Hotel Group Southeast Asia and Pacific Rim president and managing director, Barry Robinson.
Set in the heart of Yangon’s lively Mayangone Township, TRYP Yangon in addition to it 60 rooms has a restaurant and a lounge bar. All rooms have free Wi-Fi.
The hotel is operating under a franchise agreement with developer Dragon Mountain Holding Co Ltd and is managed by Kosmopolitan Hospitality, a hotel management company headquartered in Bangkok.
TRYP Yangon is located less than five minutes from Myanmar Plaza, which offers upscale retail and dining options.
In 2015, Wyndham Hotel Group announced its entry into Myanmar with the signing of a franchise agreement for a 260-room Wyndham Grand® hotel, also in Yangon.
Wyndham Hotel Group plans to expand the TRYP brand to other key Asia Pacific destinations over the year. The brand currently has more than 110 hotels globally.
