EVA taps student travel

BANGKOK, 18 January 2017: EVA Air offers promotional fares for students travelling to London until the end of June this year.

Passengers must be at least 12 years old and hold a valid student visa, International Student Identity Card (ISIC), school admission document, Overseas Student document, or an Institute Certificate.

Any of the above documents must be presented upon checking-in at the airport.

EVA Air Boeing 777-300ER Fares vary according to class and travel dates.

To London, the promotion sells a one-way fare, inclusive of taxes and surcharges, ex-Bangkok,  at THB16,170.

An inclusive roundtrip fare of THB27,670 is on offer to the same destination.

Bookings and travel period are open until 30 June this year. Fares may vary due to currency fluctuation. EVA says the fare saves up to 35%.

Comparisons show the deal is not that exciting when checked against a one-way fare on Etihad at THB14,590 and Emirates at THB18,285. But we might be comparing apple and oranges here as EVA offers a nonstop flight and that would appeal to worried parents fearful their siblings might play truant in transit at Dubai or Abu Dhabi airports.

Compared to other nonstop services, EVA’s THB16,170 is ahead of THAI at THB20,965 and British Airways at THB23,625. EVA’s best offer on booking sites, excluding the student promotion, is THB27,425. FareCompare was used for the comparisonsinside-no-31
