Vietnam adds Wi-Fi spots

HA GIANG, 7 October 2016: Free Wi-Fi transmitters will be installed in 21 locations in Ha Giang province to offer more convenient internet access for visitors.

Local media reported in Ha Giang City, there will be four free Wi-Fi hotspots, including Square 26/3, the area for restaurants in Quang Trung ward, Ha Giang bus station and the cement courtyard, with a total of 13 sets of transmitters.

The remaining eight transmitters will be installed at: Lung Cu flag tower, the H’mong King palace, Dong Van ancient town, Lung Cam cultural village (Dong Van district); Quan Ba heaven gate (Quan Ba district); Ma Pi Leng peak, and the night market in Meo Vac town (Meo Vac district).

inside no 4The installation of free Wi-Fi cover aims to improve service quality for tourists during festivals and major events, the report said.

Other cities offered free Wi-Fi in public places are Hoi An, Hue, Danang, Hai Phong, Halong, Dalat, Can Tho, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Ha Giang located in northeast Vietnam shares a 270 km long border with Yunnan province in China.

The province has more than 20 ethnic groups who offer a homestay experience and community-based tourism activities. Many of these groups are noted for their weaving skills.
