Ibis offers fair deals

BANGKOK, 17 February 2011 – All seven Ibis hotels in Thailand will sell a promotional rate of Bt1,199 a night at the 8th Thai International Travel Fair 2011, 24 to 27 February the group announced Wednesday.
The deal can be booked only at the fair and is valid until October 2011.
The standard rate at an Ibis hotel is in the range of Bt2,000 (Bangkok hotels) to Bt3,000 in some resorts such as Samui.
TTAA plans second fair

BANGKOK, 10 February 2011 – Thai Travel Agents Association revealed Monday, it will host a second travel fair, 18 to 21 August, as a follow-up to its popular annual trade show, which opens in Bangkok 24 February.
Reservations for booths for the 9th TITF opened opened at the same time with 280 booths booked, this week, of which 180 are for travel agencies.
The budget to organise the 9th TITF will be around Bt30 million.
Big turnout forecast for TTAA show

BANGKOK, 9 February 2011 – Krungthai Card PLC expects credit card spend on travel products at the up-coming 8th Thai International Travel Fair 2011 to reach Bt300 million, the company reported Monday.
The four-day event will be held at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, 24 to 27 February.
Travel spend at the show last year reached Bt1 billion in cash and credit card purchases. KTC executive vice president for membership marketing, Pittaya Vorapanyasakul, said the performance included Bt275 million spent through KTC credit cards. The show attracted 800,000 consumers.
TTAA expands fair features

BANGKOK, 25 January 2011 – Thai Travel Agents Association said it will add new conference feature at the 8th Thai International Travel Fair 2011, 24 to 27 February, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
The new feature will allow tourism related companies to present their products and services in theatre-style meeting rooms, TTAA manager Sawanit Singtoroj told TTR Weekly Monday.
There will be three theatre-like presentation rooms available for bookings that must be made in advance by exhibitors. Each room will offer eight sessions a day starting from 1100 to 1800 with each session lasting 45 minutes. The presentations schedule will be posted daily to advise fair visitors.
KTC happy with tourism earnings

BANGKOK, 4 November 2010 – Credit card spending related to tourism reached Bt9 billion Krung Thai Bank reported Tuesday.
Officials were providing an update on the bank’s travel and leisure marketing department’a performance claiming tourism related spending by card members had made gains annually since 2004, despite political and economic restraints.
