BANGKOK, 5 January 2012: Dream World reopens 10 January to coincide with Children’s Day celebrations. It is offering discounts of up to 50% discount 10 to 15 January.
The popular theme park, located in North Bangkok, was badly damaged by massive floods in November that inundated most of the capital’s northern suburbs.

Bangkok show goes to Phuket

PHUKET, 9 December 2011: Phuket will gain a new attraction with the opening of Siam Niramit Phuket, due to open at the southern island resort in time for the New Year holiday season.
A soft opening is scheduled for the new theatre, 15 December and if that goes well the theme park will fully operational for the New Year.
“The show will be identical to Siam Niramit in Bangkok,” said Siam Niramit Phuket director of sales, Supreecha Suthamanon. “But in addition to national culture we will add performances showing Andaman lifestyle.” Read more
Disneyland on road show

BANGKOK, 19 September 2011 – Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will open its latest theme park, Toy Story Land, this November and is promoting the new addition through regional road shows.
HK Disneyland Resort is currently on a road show covering 16 key markets in Asia to drum up sales for the theme park, which is facing growing competition from integrated resorts.
In Thailand, executives met with 170 Thai travel agents last week. Read more
HK Disneyland revises pass prices

BANGKOK, 16 September 2011 – Hong Kong Disneyland Resort rolled its latest one and two-day passes, Wednesday during a road show event in Bangkok.
The passes were presented alongside an introduction of the newest theme park, Toy Story Land, scheduled to open this November.
New pass prices are: HK$399 (around Bt1,547) for an adult pass; HK$285 (around Bt1,105) children pass and HK$100 (around Bt389) senior pass. A two-day pass adds another HK$100 more to the basic price. Read more
HK Disneyland sees no threats.
HONG KONG, 9 September 2011 – Hong Kong Disneyland, which has been losing money and struggling to attract visitors, said Thursday that its Shanghai counterpart was no threat as it prepares for the opening of a new attraction.
The Hong Kong park has been battling to increase its popularity since opening in 2005 and its future came under fresh scrutiny with the new US$3.7 billion Shanghai Disneyland, which is expected to open in 2016.
“Hong Kong Disneyland will maintain its competitive edge in the region as we are launching Asia’s only Toy Story Land,” Andrew Kam, managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland, told a media briefing. Read more

PATTAYA, 5 September 2011 – Five major attractions in Pattaya are being promoted through a single card in a campaign running 9 September to 31 December this year.
The five attractions are Thai Alangkarn Show, Alcazar Cabaret, Tuxedo Magic Theater, Sriracha Tiger Zoo and Pattaya Dolphin World. The card offers savings on entrance fees and is worthwhile for families visiting more than two attractions.

Thai Investor builds theme park in Laos

BANGKOK, 28 March 2011 — A Thai businessman will invest in a cultural theme park in Luang Prabang, dubbed Old Town, that will illustrate court life during an era when the world heritage town was a royal capital.
A five-star resort with 300 rooms is also part of the Huean Luang Prabang project and should open next year. The entire project cost has been estimated at around Bt300 million excluding land.
In the past, Lao PDR communist government’s leaders were reluctant to give permission for projects that would popularise a period of history when royals ran the country.
Shanghai gains Asia’s third Disneyland

SHANGHAI, 15 March 2011 – Shanghai’s municipal government revealed a draft blueprint for a Disneyland theme park late last week.
According to the spokesperson, the park will cover 7 sq km in Pudong district of Shanghai with construction slated to begin later this year.
The first phase will cover 3.9 sq m and include the Disneyland theme park, hotels, car parks, commercial centers and commuter train stations.
Legoland to boost Malaysian tourism

JOHOR BAHRU, 2 March 2011 – Malaysia plans to open the first Legoland Theme Park in Asia by the end of next year and hopes it will pull in 1 million regional tourists during its first year.
Costing RM 720 million, Legoland Theme Park in Malaysia is under construction at a site in Iskandar and will represent one of the main attractions of a new city and economic zone located at the southern tip of the country.
The park will feature 40 attractions and rides similar to other Legoland attractions, but unlike the parks in Europe it will remain open year-round.
