BANGKOK, 30 August 2017: Thai hotels need to leverage user generated content to power their business and drive more bookings, TripAdvisor regional director of hotel solutions, Asia Pacific, Amolakh Calais, told Skal International Bangkok members attending the club’s August lunch event.

The Tripadvisor executive presented an important message for all digital marketeers, covering travel and tourism related businesses touching on the impact of user generated content and online reviews, as well as the importance of online reputation management.

TripAdvisor clocks up half billion

NEEDHAM, MASS US, 20 April 2017: TripAdvisor announced, Wednesday, that it has crossed the 500 million reviews and opinions milestone.

The popular travel planning and booking site and app now posts 290 pieces of content every minute of every day.

Southeast Asian beaches dominate list

SINGAPORE, 28 February 2017: India’s Radhanagar beach on an island in the Andaman Sea emerged as the top rated beach in the region by TripAdvisor reviewers.

Released Monday, TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for Beaches in Asia identified Radhanagar Beach, on Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar in India as the Asia’s number one beach based on reviews.

Two Indian beaches made it to the top 10 list along with a beach in Sri Lanka, but Southeast Asia dominated with seven of Asia’s top-ranked beaches. Read more

TripAdvisor adds airline reviews

SINGAPORE, 13 July 2016: TripAdvisor announced, Tuesday, the launch of a new airline reviews platform, as well as a newly redesigned Flights search service and beta launch of its “flyscore” that rates the quality of each air travel itinerary for consumers.

The enhancements make it easier for consumers to make direct comparisons between flight options.

With the launch of the new airline reviews platform, which will include all major airlines, TripAdvisor expands the reach of its massive base of 350 million traveller reviews and opinions. Read more
