Dubai set for second Raffles

CANNES, France,7 December 2017: AccorHotels signed a management agreement with Dubai-based master developer, Nakheel, to brand a new-build hotel in Dubai as  a Raffles Hotels & Resorts.

The signing ceremony was held, earlier this week,  at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in Cannes.

Nakheel is developing PALM360, a twin-tower development on the world famous Palm Jumeirah. It will feature the Raffles The Palm Dubai Hotel and Raffles Residences PALM360. Read more

Accor resort to be a Raffles

SINGAPORE, 22 August 2017: AccorHotels announced its first management contract for a resort in the Maldives, effective 1 September.

The group will take over Dhevanafushi Maldives Luxury Resort that occupies the private island of Meradhoo.

The resort will be repositioned following improvements to be completed by late 2018. It will then join the iconic collection of Raffles hotels and resorts. Read more

Raffles readies for scrub

SINGAPORE, 26 July 2017: Sir Stamford Raffles must be one of the cleanest statues in the region.

He gets a regular scrub down and is suitably deodorised in keeping with his lofty status as the most snapped statue in this island nation, second only to the Merlion.

Hardly surprising as Singapore is considered the squeaky clean destination of Southeast Asia, light years ahead of its neighbours in hygiene and public health. Read more

Raffles readies for a remake

SINGAPORE, 13 October 2016: Singapore’s historic Raffles Hotel said Tuesday it would shut for several months from the end of 2017 to undergo renovations.

Restoration of the 129-year-old hotel, declared a national monument in 1987, will be done in three phases beginning with the shopping arcade in January, the hotel’s management said at a news conference.

Work will start on the main hotel building and lobby in mid-2017 before the hotel shuts completely at the end of the year, reopening in mid-2018. Read more
