BANGKOK, 4 October 2017: Singapore Airlines  and Grab announced a partnership, Tuesday, that integrates their mobile apps to offer  a pre booking service for a ride to an airport in six countries across Southeast Asia.

The SQ mobile app offers the Grab taxi service in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Starting Tuesday, SIA customers can book Grab rides through the SingaporeAir mobile app. Customers using the app will see an option to book a Grab ride to the airport seven days before their scheduled departure. Read more

Taxi drivers told to behave

BANGKOK, 26 June 2017: The Land Transport Department has asked taxi drivers to improve their manners after some drivers set about a car driver they suspected was an Uber of Grab member.

The incident that occurred at the weekend could have turned nasty.

Taxi drivers besieged the driver at Chiang Mai airport, which is under the management of the Airports of Thailand. Read more

Pressure to slow Uber and Grab

HANOI, 21 June 2017: Pressure is being applied on Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport to stop licensing new cars for app-based taxi services as traditional taxis feel the pinch.

Tuoi Tre News reported that a pilot programme allowing Grab and Uber as well as several local taxi and transportation companies to operate app-based services in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa has now come under fire.

Both the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City transport departments proposed rules that will prevent an expansion of the internet-based taxi booking services as criticism mounts mainly generated by traditional taxi owners. Read more
