BANGKOK, 21 October 2010 – Tourism Authority of Thailand released details of major golf-related events last week that will help Thailand to strengthen its role as golf holiday destination during 2011.
Three events were scheduled for earlier this year and the balance by October 2011.
The events include the 2010 Asia Pacific Golf Summit, 2010 Asia Pacific Golf Industry Show, the 2010 Golf Course Superintendents of Asia Summit, 2011 Asian Golf Tourism Forum, 2011 Southeast Asia/India Golf Merchandise Show, 2011 PGA of Asia Conference, 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit, 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Industry Show and 2011 Golf Course Superintendents of Asia Summit, to push Thailand as Southeast Asia’s premier golf hub.

BANGKOK, 13 September 2010 – Thailand Tee-off Service invites golfers to tournaments, October through to November, at courses in North Thailand, according to a Tourism Authority of Thailand notice posted on its website Monday.
The first tournament Chiang Mai Tee off Cup will be hosted at six golf courses in Chiang Mai, 24 to 31 October. They are: Alpine Golf Course; Inthanon Golf Course; Highland Golf Course; Royal Chiang Mai Golf Course; Gassan Khuntan Golf Course and Mae Jo Golf Course. The package costs Bt25,000/ person for twin-share accommodation and Bt30,000/person in a single room.

BANGKOK, 7 October 2010 – Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Kanchanaburi office and Kanchanaburi Hotel, Resort and Golf Course Association will host “Play golf only one price in Kanchanaburi”, 14 to 15 October.
The programme is part of a domestic campaign tagged “Hug Thailand”. It offers a round of golf at Bt799 and an overnight stay at a hotel for the same price.
Chairty golf set for Phuket

BANGKOK, 20 September 2010 – Phuket will host its first charity international golf tournament, the 2010 Phuket Property Dot Com Pro Am Invitational, at Phuket’s Blue Canyon Country Club, 5 November, the organisers reported last week.
The Invitational will tee-off at 1130. Entry for members of Blue Canyon Country Club is Bt7,000, and Bt9,000 for non-members. All golfers will receive a goody bag valued at over Bt3,000. The event has 30 golf professionals already booked.
Golf pros head for Pattaya

BANGKOK, 24 August 2010 – Pattaya will host an international golf tournament, Thailand Open OneAsia, 26 to 29 August at Burapha Golf & Resort.
This is the sixth round of the annual OneAsia Golf tournament with prize money worth US$1 million. Warm up games start 25 August.
Pattaya City hopes the tournament will attract more visitors and boost its “Pattaya Grand Sale,” which is an on-going promotion until the end of this October.

Thailand Golf and Dive Expo 2010 and Wonderful Thailand 2010 aims to promote Thailand as a centre of golfing and diving destination in Asia will be held from 20 to 23 May at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
The two events target 80,000 to 85,000 visitors. They will be open to trade and consumers from 1100 to 2100.
Both shows are organised by Tourism Authority of Thailand in cooperation with the NCC Exhibition Organiser (NEO). Apart from the consumer-oriented show, there will be meet and match business session to showcase golfing and diving products in Thailand.
