BANGKOK, 14 January 2011 – Amadeus, is promoting its study “The Travel Gold Rush 2020,” at what it calls an Amadeus Power Breakfast to be held in Hong Kong, 18 January.
The seminar will take place at The Foreign Correspondents’ Club, North Block, 2 Lower Albert Road, Central, from 0800 to 1100. This event is free for corporate travel managers but seats are limited.
Abacus beefs up channel management

SINGAPORE, 12 January 2011 – Abacus International announced Tuesday the appointment of Danny Kondic as vice president, channel management.
Mr Kondic is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in the travel industry, having started his career with Qantas in Sydney, Australia.
He has also held senior roles in the airline business including Malaysia Airlines in Kuala Lumpur as well as travel agency, wholesale and content with Kuoni Travel and most recently with Gullivers Travel Associates, both based in Hong Kong.
OneClick launch touts security tool
BANGKOK 4 November 2010 – A new online application, OneClick, introduced by Amadeus Asia Pacific, claims to be able to keep companies in touch with their employees during national emergencies and travel disruptions.
Introduced Thursday at a media briefing held at its Bangkok regional headquarters, Amadeus said the application allowed corporate users to quickly locate travelling employees in the event of an emergency.
Amadeus OneClick was developed over nine months starting last December and research with potential users suggested it should support what is legally termed “duty of care.” Read more
Travel agents favour ease of bookings

SINGAPORE, 21 October 2010 – The first Amadeus survey on Asia Pacific hotel distribution trends, released Wednesday, shows travel agents believe ease of booking hotel inventory is just as important as securing an attractive rate, when it comes to selecting accommodation for clients.
Amadeus revealed the research findings at the Web in Travel Conference, held in Singapore yesterday on the side lines of ITB Asia.
It examined travel agents’ and travellers’ perspectives on hotel selection and the booking process to help bridge the gap between agents and hoteliers.
Abacus pushes growth in Thai market

BANGKOK, 19 October 2010 – Abacus International is confident it can still grow market share in Thailand despite being locked out of THAI’s domestic airline content due to TG’s exclusive arrangement with Amadeus Asia Pacific.
Abacus’s current market share is reported at around 20% and the company maintains it has grown market share in Thailand consistently but declines to reveal target growth for this year.
“We will grow faster but there are restrictions,” Abacus president and CEO, Robert Bailey told TTR Weekly at the Abacus International Conference in Ho Chi Minh City last week.

Kenya Airways signs with Travelport

Nairobi, 22 September, 2010 –- Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry and Kenya Airways have signed off on a full-content agreement for Galileo and Worldspan-connected users worldwide.
