KUALA LUMPUR, 24 March 2017: Sunway Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Michael Monks as general manager for Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Drawing on over 35 years of hospitality industry experience, Monks is responsible for the overall operations at Sunway’s 650-room hotel, located opposite Kuala Lumpur’s Putra World Trade Centre (PTWC).
A British national, he joins Sunway from Crowne Plaza Xi’an in China where he was general manager. He has worked in China’s hotel sector for more than 15 years. Read more
HAT YAI, 9 March 2017: Centara Hotels & Resorts has promoted and transferred Manoon Wutti, former resident manager at Khum Phaya Resort & Spa, Centara Boutique Collection as general manager of Centara Hotel Hat Yai.
Assuming his new management role, 1 March, Manoon has over 30 years experience in the hospitality business.

PATTAYA, 3 March 2017: Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya has appointed Mario Mendis as executive assistant manager for F&B.
An Australian national, Mendis graduated from eCornell University, and has more than 10 years of experience in the food and beverage field.

Bailly will head digital, distribution, sales, and Information systems, and will be a member of the company’s executive committee.

SAMUI, 24 February 2017: Centara Hotels & Resorts announced, Thursday, the appointment of Denis Thouvard as general manager of Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, Thailand.
Thouvard, a French national joined the Centara Hotels & Resorts team in 2009 as general manager for the opening of Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket.
He was subsequently promoted to the post of area general manager for Phuket in 2012, with additional responsibilities to oversee both Centara Villas Phuket and Centra Ashlee Hotel Patong. Read more

HUA HIN, 16 February 2017: International hotel group, Compass Hospitality, has appointed veteran hotelier, Nigel Tovey, as general manager of Ananda Hua Hin Resort & Spa, a newly built luxury beachfront property and the group’s first Ananda branded five-star flagship resort scheduled to open this April.
Tovey has over 35 years experience in the hotel business, with the past 25 years in Thailand working with international chains and independent brands.
Tovey noted: “There are three very clearly defined sections to the resort – starting with what will be Hua Hin’s largest hotel ballroom, a water-focused family resort area, and private luxury pool villas leading down to the beach.” Read more
