BANGKOK, 7th November 2017: Centara Hotels & Resorts  announced the appointment of Markland Blaiklock as deputy chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Blaiklock will be responsible for steering the continued expansion of Centara.

BANGKOK: 3 November 2017: Diethelm Travel Group announced, this week, the appointment of Victor Mogilev as group director of sales and Janejira Vewatanawarangkun as general manager Diethelm Travel Thailand, both effective 1 November.

They are based in Bangkok at the Diethelm Travel Group’s head office.

Previously holding the post of general manager of Diethelm Travel Thailand, Mogilev has considerable experience. He joined the company in 2012. Read more

In her new role, Dill will be responsible for all sales, marketing, and revenue optimisation efforts for the company’s member hotels in North and South America.

Avani hires director of sales

BANGKOK, 20 October  2017: AVANI Hotels & Resorts has named Daniel Kipping as director of sales for all the group’s regional brands.

Kipping will direct sales for 18 properties in 12 countries.

BANGKOK, 19 October 2017: Akaryn Hotel Group has appointed Thomas Singenberger as hotel manager at akyra Sukhumvit Bangkok, which is due to open in the first quarter of 2018.

He brings a decade of executive level experience to his new role at the 50-room property.

Etihad former airport chief as CEO

ABU DHABI, 2 October 2017:  Abu Dhabi carrier Etihad late last week appointed a senior British defence official who once ran the emirate’s airports as its next chief executive, as it looks to staunch heavy losses.

Tony Douglas will join Etihad, which lost USD1.87 billion last year, in January from the British defence ministry where he oversees equipment procurement and training for the army.

He has previously held senior positions in the UAE, most notably as CEO of both Abu Dhabi Airports and Abu Dhabi Ports. Read more

Mövenpick strengthens sales

BAAR, Switzerland, 25 September, 2017: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed Julien Bonafous as vice president sales, a new role created to support the hospitality firm’s ongoing expansion drive.

Bonafous, whose 20-year career in the hotel industry has included several senior sales and marketing roles with key international players including Starwood, Hilton and IHG, is taking charge of Mövenpick’s sales strategy globally.

He will be responsible for leading the group’s sales operations, which include 17 international and area sales offices, worldwide, ensuring sales activity is aligned to key marketing objectives across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and in Asia where the group’s footprint is expanding at pace.
