BIG reaches 20 million

-

SEPANG, 3 September 2018: AirAsia has reached 20 million BIG Members globally, marking a major milestone for its BIG Loyalty programme.

The loyalty programme now averages 500,000 sign-ups per month, with the top five markets having the largest member bases being Malaysia (3.6 million members), China (2.3 million), Thailand (2.1 million), Indonesia (1.4 million) and India (1.1 million).

To mark the milestone, AirAsia BIG Loyalty is giving away 20 million BIG Points to its most active members until 30 November as part of its #WeAre20MilBIG contest.

BIG Members who earn, redeem or convert the most points during this period stand a chance to win 20,000 BIG Points every week, 50,000 BIG Points every month as well as a grand prize of 200,000 BIG Points at the end of the three months.

AirAsia BIG Members can take part simply by earning BIG Points from qualifying AirAsia flights, BigPay or any of the over 160 lifestyle and travel partners across six key markets in Asia Pacific, or by converting bank and other loyalty points from our partners.

Members can also redeem AirAsia flights, hotel stays and tour activities to increase their chances of winning. More details on the giveaway can be found at airasiabig.com.

AirAsia deputy group CEO (Digital, Transformation and Corporate Services) Aireen Omar said, “We wish to thank each and every one of our loyal members for their continuous support… Achieving this milestone is a big part of our digital plans for the airline.”

Established in November 2011, AirAsia BIG Loyalty enables its members to enjoy the lowest flight fares across AirAsia’s extensive network. The loyalty programme makes all seats redeemable by using AirAsia BIG Points, which are as good as cash, to knock off a portion of the fare. Other member-only privileges include 24-hour priority booking for all AirAsia sales plus monthly sales of up to 90% off on flight redemption.

Last year, AirAsia BIG Loyalty launched the world’s first Freedom Flyer Programme aimed at making it easier, faster and better for loyal guests to earn BIG Points based on flight frequency – the more guests fly with AirAsia, the faster they will earn BIG Points, regardless of how much they spend on fares.

AirAsia BIG Loyalty has won numerous awards, including Best Use of Technology at the Loyalty Awards 2018 for its Freedom Flyer Programme and Gold for Best Loyalty Programme (Travel/Hospitality) at Loyalty and Engagement Awards 2018.
