Six top brands open in Bangkok

-

BANGKOK, 17 August 2018: Bangkok will soon be home to more luxury branded hotels as six properties open during the last quarter of this year and early 2019.

Hotel developers will add 1,158 rooms in the top-flight category in Bangkok confident their properties will open at a time when demand for luxury accommodation is expanding.

Waldorf Astoria, a brand owned by Hilton, will open 30 August with 171 rooms in a mixed-use building developed by Magnolia Finest Corporation.

The 242-metre high tower that dominates the skyline at the Ploenchit/Ratchaprasong junction features accommodation from the sixth to 16th floor and restaurants and bars on the 55th to 57th floors.

Hyatt Regency at Sukhumvit, Soi 13, has 273 rooms and is due to soft open this November in time to host a “major meeting” group in January. It’s the fourth Hyatt property in the city.

Bangkok Edition, a Ritz Carlton boutique brand, is due to open at the end of the year. The property will have 154 rooms occupying the lower floors of the 77-level high-rise Mahanakhon building, the tallest in Bangkok at 314 metres. Floors 23 to 73 will be set aside for Ritz Carlton residences.

Capella Bangkok under construction on the banks of the Chao Phraya River is due to open at the end of the year with 101 suites.

At the Ploenchit and Wireless road junction, Rosewood Bangkok will have 159 rooms in a 33-floor building due to open in early 2019. It will have direct bridge access to the skytrain’s Ploenchit station.

Four Seasons returns to Bangkok following a four-year absence, after its management of a property on Ratchaprasong lapsed. The property was rebranded Anantara by owner Minor Holdings.  Four Seasons’ new site is on the city’s riverside where 300 rooms should soft open mid-2019.
