AirAsia launches online fare deals

-

BANGKOK, 28 August 2018: AirAsia launched its latest deals, Monday, that offer discounted fares within Thailand for as low as THB490 one-way.

The deals on international routes start as low as THB1,190 one-way.

Bookings must be completed by 2 September for a travel period that extends to 17 February 2019.

For travel to destinations in the Mekong Region, a flight to Luang Prabang sells at THB1,690 one-way, before tax and surcharges. The same fare applies one-way to Mandalay in Myanmar,

Other Mekong destinations are slightly cheaper with a flight to Danang in Vietnam costing THB1,490. The same price applies to flights to Vientiane in Laos, Hanoi in Vietnam and Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

Danang is an interesting option if you have yet to explore the World Heritage town of Hoi An, which also has a nearby beach and five-star resorts. There is also the option to take the coastal road north to Hue, the former Imperial city, also designated a World Heritage site.

The fare to another World Heritage destination, Siem Reap in Cambodia, is cheaper at THB1,290, which is surprising as the destination pulls in more tourists than the capital Phnom Penh.

Yangon in Myanmar has the cheapest fare on offer at THB1,190 one-way, suggesting the Bangkok-Yangon route is either oversupplied with low-cost seats, or negative publicity over the unresolved Rohingya crisis remains a negative factor.

Despite earthquake and the threat of volcanic eruptions, AirAsia’s fare to Denpasar, Bali, are pegged at THB3,090.

There is an interesting deal if you are resident in Hua Hin and want to visit Kuala Lumpur. The fare is the lowest in the pack at THB1,099.

For the popular sector Bangkok-Osaka, that attracts the attention of Thai travellers, the one-way fare is THB3,890.

Domestic fares in Thailand sell for as low as THB490 if you are a BIG Loyalty programme member, or THB533 if you are not bothered about earning points on travel.

A THB490 fare will get you to Phuket, Krabi and Buriram, but not Ranong, Chiang Rai or Chumphon, that are all THB100 more expensive each way.
