Thailand’s announces short film winners

BANGKOK, 23 July 2018: Short films presenting Thailand’s tourist destinations were honoured by the country’s Department of Tourism during the Thailand International Film Destination Festival 2018 (TIFDF2018).

Winners including both Thai and foreign young competitors were identified 17 July at the KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha Center of Performing Art in Siam Square One.

The Department of Tourism, director general, Anan Wongbenjarat said: “Since 2013, DOT has been organising the Thailand International Film Destination Festival to promote the potential of the filming industry and our readiness to host international filming productions.”

Now in its sixth year the Thailand International Film Destination Festival 2018 attracted 277 entries for the short film competition.

A shortlisted 24 teams made it to the final round from various countries including England, Bulgaria, Portugal, Brazil, India, The Philippines and Singapore.

Teams were assigned to shoot short films in eight tourism locations around the country under the theme ‘Thai Style’. There were also 15 Thai student teams, selected from 36 teams, assigned to shoot under the concept ‘Sufficiency Economy’ in any of the provinces in Thailand.

Winners Middle Zone

Award for Outstanding Presentation of Middle Zone — The Chao Phraya River Cluster: Philippines (Team 21)

Winners East Zone

Award for Outstanding Presentation of East Zone — The Active Beach Cluster: Singapore (Team 24)
