Red Hat meets in Bali

-

SINGAPORE, 9 July 2018: Bali hosts a prestigious Red Hat partners technology conference, this week, beating stiff competition mounted by popular Asian destinations vying for high-yield event business.

The latest volcanic eruptions from Bali’s Mount Arung caused a scare last week, when a cloud of ash forced the island’s airport to close, but business is back to normal and Red Hat is pressing ahead with its top-flight event.

For Bali’s Meetings and Conventions industry the Red Hat event is a shot in the arm, a confidence builder after months of uncertainty linked to Mount Arung’s volcanic activity.

Red Hat Inc, a leading provider of open source solutions, announced at the weekend keynote speakers for the 2018 Red Hat Partner Conference Asia Pacific.

The event will take place in Bali, Indonesia from 10 to 12 July drawing more than 225 Red Hat partners, distributors, system integrators, ISVs, OEMs and solution providers to the popular tourist destination.

Competition to host the event was tight with bids presented by destinations in Vietnam, Macau and Malaysia, all keen to win the high-value conference.

Josep Garcia, vice president, Channel Partners & Alliances, Red Hat Asia Pacific.

It attracts partners from across the Asia-Pacific region and is highly sought after by convention bureaus keen to grow their corporate events sector.

The two-day conference will kick-off with keynote presentations by Red Hat executives including Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen, senior vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific and Arun Oberoi, executive vice president for global sales and services and Mark Enzweiler, senior vice president, partners and alliances.

Other notable guest speakers include Sandra Ng, group vice president of IDC Asia Pacific practice group, who will provide insights into the partner landscape and market opportunities in the region.

Red Hat partners such as Deloitte, Intel, STT Connect and Microsoft will make presentations on developing a winning business strategy with Red Hat solutions.

Commenting on the event Red Hat Asia Pacific channel partners and alliances vice president, Josep Garcia said: “In line with the theme of “Stronger Together,” the 2018 Red Hat Partner Conference Asia Pacific aims to not only connect our partner ecosystem, but also provide the knowledge and expertise for them to better grow their business with Red Hat.”
