China specialist opens Singapore office

-

SINGAPORE, 4 July 2018: Reuter Communications, an Asia-focused communications and marketing agency, has opened in Singapore to support regional businesses looking to attract luxury travellers from China.

The office will provide local, on-the-ground capabilities to luxury travel, hospitality and lifestyle businesses wishing to develop marketing, public relations and digital communications initiatives.

“We are seeing a growing interest from businesses in Southeast Asia to reach affluent and increasingly sophisticated Chinese consumers,” said Reuter Communications managing partner Nick Cakebread.

“Singapore is an ideal location for us to provide support to those clients in the region who seek strategic advice and access to our integrated communications and digital solutions in Greater China,” he added.

The Singapore office will be led by, regional account director APAC, Cindy Choo. This is the agency’s fourth office after Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dubai.

The SEA region is currently witnessing a travel boom. Proximity and simplified visa application procedures make Southeast Asian countries the preferred destination of outbound Chinese tourists.

Chinese tourists visiting the region increased fivefold over the past decade[1] and during the 2017 golden week holidays alone, 46% of Chinese travellers chose SEA destinations[2].

Luxury markets are set to continue surging forward, largely attributed to Chinese travellers, especially from the millennial demographic.

Mainland China is forecast to account for the majority of future growth, with recent predictions for the market to grow between 20% and 22% [3].
