AVANI signs second hotel in Malaysia

BANGKOK, 26 July 2018: AVANI Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement with real estate developer, KTI Property, to manage an AVANI hotel in Kota Kinabalu, capital of Sabah, Malaysia.

Scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2021, the new-build AVANI Kota Kinabalu Hotel will have 378 rooms.

The hotel will feature an all-day restaurant and a rooftop pool and bar, as well as 855 square metres of meeting space.

The mixed-use property is located a 20-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

Kota Kinabalu, capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state is best known as a base to embark on scuba diving trips, nature tours and treks to Mount Kinabalu, a UNESCO World Heritage nature site and one of the highest peaks in Southeast Asia.

The state capital is served by international flights from Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, as well as China.

AVANI currently operates 23 hotels and resorts in 15 countries, including one in Malaysia. The brand recently debuted in Australia, New Zealand, and Laos. AVANI currently has 13 new hotels in the pipeline, including the latest signing in Melbourne, Dubai, and a third AVANI property in Bangkok.
