TOKYO, 4 June 2018: Vietnam’s Vietjet Air will launch a direct flight connecting Hanoi with Osaka (Japan) 8 November.
The latest route was announced at the weekend during a Japan-Vietnam Economic Forum in Tokyo.
Vietnam’s President, Tran Dai Quang and high ranking Japanese government representatives attended the media briefing to announce the route expansion to Japan.
Vietjet will fly an A320 aircraft on the Hanoi-Osaka route with a flight time of slightly more than five hours on the daily flight.
The flight will depart Hanoi at 0145 and arrive in Osaka at around 0750. The return flight will take off from Osaka at 0920 and land in Hanoi at around 1310.
The service will help to boost two-way traffic as Japan is targeting Vietnamese travellers with easy entry rules and Japanese travellers are among the top five markets supplying tourist markets to Vietnam
Vietjet’s new service to Osaka will give the airline 45 routes with 38 serving a domestic network.

Vietjet is already collaborating with Japanese travel agencies to operate direct charter flights from Vietnam to Osaka as well as Narita, Sendai, Nagoya, Ibaraki and Fukushima.
