Tour East taps potential in the Americas

-

SINGAPORE, 11 June 2018: Encouraged by continued growth from source markets in the Americas, Tour East will expand its presence and support for the retail, wholesale and MICE sectors of the industry across the Americas.

After recently setting up a sales structure for both leisure and MICE, Tour East announced, last Friday, the opening of a full service travel industry support centre in Los Angeles, based in the JTB Americas Company building.

Commenting on the development, Tour East’s senior vice president Chris Bailey said: “The Americas – as a source market, has become increasingly important to the Tour East Group and we are seeing growing demand for our destination management services which now span 14 countries across  Asia-Pacific.

“Tour East has started the process to open this office in order to deliver expert destination knowledge directly to our industry partners. The office will also act as an administrator for bookings and importantly payments which not only provides a more “real-time” communication opportunity for our customers – delivering ease and speed, but also negates the need for extra administration and costly money transfers to conclude transactions.”

Tour East will also add a sales presence in Sao Paulo, Brazil to further expand its sales and business development network supporting the planned expansion of the Americas source markets. This office will cover South American and Mexico markets.

Speaking on the overall strategy, Tour East Group CEO and president, Shigeyuki Suzuki commented:  “Our business is 100% derived from B2B relationships with the travel industry and to stay relevant to our existing and potential clients, we have to strive to not only deliver quality products and services, but also be a trading partner that is efficient, effective and easy to do business with.

“Technology plays an important part in this and Tour East is certainly driving market leading options in this regard – but so is the ability to talk and interact with our people located in and near our clients’ home markets. Our growing team of sales and business development professionals are strategically placed to add that extra layer of service and access.”

Established in 1972 Tour East has 14 operating destinations in Singapore, China and Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand.
