Skål meets in Macau

-

MACAU, 5 June 2018: SKAL Club members across Asia are being encouraged to attend the 47th Skål Asia Area Congress that will be hosted in Macau, 21 to 24 June.

Skål International Bangkok Club president, Andrew Wood, posted details of the regional event reminding Thailand’s Skål members that they can still register.

Skål International is a global social, networking association for the travel and tourism industries including airlines and cruises.

The focus of this year’s event will be “gastronomy tourism” according to the Skål International Macau Club that is the official host.

Macau is recognised by the UNESCO World Heritage for its historical central district, but it is best known for its glitzy casinos and integrated resorts that dominate the skyline.

Macau’s gambling revenue is the highest in the world surpassing Las Vegas with a considerable margin.

President of Skål International, Susanna Sari, as well as the president of Skål Asia Area, Robert Sohn, will attend the regional conference.

According to Andrew Wood’s post to club members and media, an MOU will be signed between PATA and Skål International by PATA CEO, Mario Hardy, and Skål International CEO, Daniela Otero.

Hardy will speak on “Setting the stage for Sustainable Tourism Development, MGTO Director Helena de Senna Fernandes on “Macau, World Center of Tourism and Leisure” and Irene Lau on “MICE in Macau”.

The event will be held at Fisherman’s Wharf with Legend Palace and Harbourview, the official hotels, which are part of the complex.
