Flights continue to Osaka

-

BANGKOK, 20 June 2018: Thai Airways International has confirmed it has introduced a ticket change waiver for passengers affected by the earthquake in Osaka, Japan, until 2 July.

The 6.1 earthquake hit Osaka during the morning rush hour on Monday killing four people and injuring more than 300. Public transport and utilities were damaged including water mains and electricity lines.

THAI vice president, aviation safety, security & standards, Pratana Patanasiri, said airline’s services were unaffected by the earthquake.

Flights between Bangkok and Osaka, Japan, continue according to the timetable as Kansai International Airport remains open and fully operational.

However, public ground transportation was damaged resulting in some passengers failing to check-in for a mid-day flight on Monday from Osaka to Bangkok.

They were transferred to a later flight, TG673, from Kansai International Airport arriving at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport at 2125 Monday evening.

THAI has now waived the ticket change fees for passengers affected by the earthquake through to 2 July, but some conditions may apply.

For more information and assistance, passengers may inquire with the THAI Contact Centre Tel 02-356-1111 or the local THAI Call Centre in Japan Tel 057-006-4015 (local calls in Japan) at 0900-1700 or Tel +81 335-033-311 (for international calls) at 0900-1700.
