Dusit in expansion mode

BANGKOK, 6 June 2018: Dusit International plans to open at least 10 new properties by the end of 2019 in Asia and the Middle East.

The Thailand-based hotel chain said properties are scheduled to open in Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore and Vietnam.

It will raise Dusit-branded properties in operation to 37.

By 2021 the group claims it will have an inventory of 14,000 keys in properties in 20 countries. Today, the company operates 27 hotels and 7,000 keys in just nine countries.

The recently launched ASAI budget brand will have five properties; one in Bangkok, three in the Philippines, and one in Myanmar.

Latest appointments:

Lars Eltvik as managing director of PHI Education, Dusit Hospitality Management College, and dusitD2 The Fort, Manila, Philippines;

Kris Panyasuksri as general manager (of dusitD2 Yarkay Thimphu, Bhutan.

David Baldwin as GM of Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu.

Eric Piatti as GM of Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore, the first Dusit-branded hotel in the country (opens Q1 2019)

Christopher Wichlan as GM of dusitD2 Davao, Dusit Thani Residences Davao, and Dusit Thani Lubi Island Resort. Dusit’s upcoming projects in Davao City, Philippines, are slated to soft open in Q1 2019.

Saman Sarathchandra as GM of dusitD2 Resort and Spa Vung Tau, Vietnam (opens Q1 2019).

Atique Rahman as GM of Dusit Princess Dhaka, Bangladesh, slated to soft open in Q2 next year.
